    Constructed around 1783 by <\/strong>French prisoners of war, the Old Ballast Pond was originally built to protect ballast barges from the elements. Today, this remarkable structure\u2014one of only two surviving ancient ballast ponds in the UK\u2014has been carefully restored and reimagined as Torpoint Yachting Harbour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
